Open Letter to Mark Zuckerberg

Open letter to Mark Zuckerberg C.E.O #Facebook.

Hi Mr, Mark Elliot Zuckerberg, i am sure as High Court Lahore directed today, my govt of Pakistan officially would serve you written letter for removing or blocking fake facebbook accounts, news feeds and viral ads, i suggest here security measures which may ensure fair and free democratic election in Pakistan.
Suggested Election Security Measures which may be adopted by #Facebook.
A. There are main election security areas that social media websites should cover like First, combating foreign interference, Second, removing fake accounts, Third, increasing ads transparency, and Fourth, reducing the spread of false news. This is a comprehensive approach that may be deploying in elections around the world. Fifth, Close to election, to confirm news (especially news tickers) feeds which are highly viral in nature before allow to circulate on social media.
B. That another school of cyber security experts suggest to fixed some important issues, which are:
1. Fake identities– this is when an actor conceals their identity or takes on the identity of another group or individual;
2. Fake audiences– so this is using tricks to artificially expand the audience or the perception of support for a particular message;
3. False facts – the assertion of false information; and
4. False narratives– which are intentionally divisive headlines and language that exploit disagreements and sow conflict. This is the most difficult area, as different news outlets and consumers can have completely different opinions on what an appropriate narrative is even if they agree on the facts.
C. That it is suggested as strategy: that partnership with third-party fact-checking organizations. Social media sites should check progress to limit the spread of articles rated false by fact-checkers.
Here’s how this method works:
• Using signals, including feedback from people on Facebook, to predict potentially false stories for fact-checkers to review.
• When fact-checkers rate a story as false, social media site significantly reduce its distribution in News Feed.
• Social Media site notify people who’ve shared the story in the past and warn people who try to share it going forward.
• For those who still come across the story in their News Feed, social media website show more information from fact-checkers in a Related Articles unit.
• Social media websites use the information from fact-checkers to train our machine learning model, so that it can catch more potentially false news stories and do so faster.
D. The process will include a number of checks and steps:
• First, Page admins will have to submit their government-issued IDs and provide a physical mailing address for verification, Second, social media site will confirm each address by mailing a letter with a unique access code that only their specific Facebook account can use, and third, advertisers will also have to disclose what candidate, organization or business they represent.
• Marketers will have to confirm their identities, what candidate, organization or business they represent before being able to place ads for political candidates on Facebook.
• Election-related ads will be labeled in Facebook feeds. And an archive should be available where the public can view the ads and get more information on them, such as how much money was spent, the number of impressions they received and the demographics of the audience they reached.
• Election experts say Facebook must crack down on inflammatory ads on politically divisive issues, which were used to influence voters during and after the election campaign.
• Targeting issue ads is easier, according to Stanford University economics professor Matthew Gentzkow. Candidate ads are simple to identify.
